Back Pain Relief

Did you know, that 80% of us will suffer back pain at some point in our life, whether it is acute or chronic. Lower back pain is usually due to normal aging, sitting for long periods of time, lack of exercise, heavy lifting, or injury. Massage therapy is proving to be an important treatment protocol, especially when the low back pain is due to muscle strain.

There is a lot of published research that demonstrates that massage can help release lower back pain. Soft tissue therapy is effective for persistent low back pain and able to provide long-lasting benefits like:

  • Reducing or eliminate pain
  • Relaxing tense muscles
  • Improve blood circulation
  • Speeding up recovery 
  • Eases feelings of stress and anxiety

Releasing tension and reducing pain is the first step to get rid of your lower back pain. The right exercises done regularly is the next step to bring you back to a life where bending forwards to tie your shoes or straighten your back after working on the desk won’t cause any problems. A soft tissue therapy treatment does not only release your tension and pain, but also provide you with a specific set of exercises so that you can keep working on improving and finally get rid of it for good.

Tips to manage lower back pain at home: 
🔹Keep moving: you might feel more like resting but try to keep up with your usual level of daily activity. Being too sedentary allows the supportive muscles around the spine and in the back to become weak and that in turn can causes less support for the spine and lead to discomfort and pain
🔹Stretch: think about cats or dogs, they stretch every time when they get up, without plan or timer. If it feels nice – they carry on. If it hurts, they stop. Focus on breathing into the stiff area.
🔹Strengthen: strong muscles, especially in your core, help support your back. Strength and flexibility may help to relieve pain and prevent it. But keep in mind that some exercises may not be recommended and can be harmful, get advice from a health professional. Pilates for instance is a good way to strengthen your core and all the important muscles around.
🔹Try Ice or Heat: you may have heard that one is better than the other… honestly it doesn’t matter take the one which works best for you.
